We The Citizens Editorial

Charlie Kirk built Turning Point USA into the largest conservative youth organization in America. He believed in empowering young Americans to take ownership of their communities, their campuses, and their government. When Charlie was taken from us on September 10, 2025, the organization he built was immediately captured by interests he would never have endorsed.

We The Citizens is the movement Charlie would have wanted.

What Is We The Citizens?

A very lightweight organization that operates the way Charlie Kirk wanted TPUSA to ideally work. An organization where the board answers to the members, where financial transparency is non-negotiable, and where no corporate sponsor or foreign interest can buy influence over the mission.

The Seven Charter Principles

Our charter is built on seven principles:

  1. Good Ethics First. We focus on good ethics above all other agendas.
  2. Politicians Work for Citizens. US politicians are not sellouts for money in politics, the deep state, or any domestic or foreign power pursuing agendas against the interests of the American citizen.
  3. Expose the Deep State. The structure of the deep state must be fully exposed, with a plan to fix any wrongs in that process.
  4. Christian Values. A Christian organization that exists to represent Christian values.
  5. Online Political Leadership. Highly leveraged online thought leadership that results in politically changing the most critical problems we face — getting good people into power even when they have less money than their opposition.
  6. Enable Underfunded Candidates to Win. Build the infrastructure to help the best citizen-aligned candidates win against opponents with far more money, run hyper-efficiently with high leverage.
  7. Permanently Prevent Voter Fraud. Open source software and hyper-policed transparency in the entire voting process to guarantee that only one qualified citizen can vote once, and fraud can never happen.

Programs

We The Citizens Conference — A once-a-year national conference bringing together thought leaders across the political spectrum that Charlie Kirk would have wanted. The board selects speakers. The conference advances the seven charter principles through public discourse, education, and coalition-building.

Campus Debates — Great political thought leaders visit universities, answer questions, and engage students in debate. Building future political leaders. All campus content is repurposed for social media to extend its reach.

The Founding Board

The board is composed of individuals Charlie Kirk trusted, who stood with him, and who share the values of this charter:

  1. Candace Owens
  2. Dave Smith
  3. Joe Kent
  4. Tulsi Gabbard
  5. Tucker Carlson
  6. Steve Bannon
  7. Marjorie Taylor Greene
  8. Bryan Starbuck
  9. Ian Carroll
  10. Thomas Massie
  11. Matt Gaetz
  12. Glenn Greenwald
  13. Collin Campbell
  14. Baron Coleman
  15. Ryan Matta
  16. Megyn Kelly

People who stood with Charlie — not people who stood to profit from his absence.

Board members are bound by term limits, member recall authority, no conflicts of interest, full financial disclosure, and the charter itself.

Governance That Cannot Be Captured

The members own this organization. Every major decision flows from the membership. The board serves at the pleasure of the members.

All finances are public. All board votes are public. Every financial transaction, every board vote, every policy decision is published on wethecitizens.io. Members have real-time access to the state of their organization.

No single donor, corporation, or foreign interest may hold outsized influence. Funding comes from the grassroots — small-dollar donations from real Americans who believe in the mission.

The Promise

We The Citizens will never be captured. When the members own the organization, when finances are transparent, when leadership is accountable and term-limited, and when no single interest can buy influence — the movement belongs to the people.

That is what Charlie Kirk fought for. That is what we will protect.
