Removing the hijack
Detection and exposure are preparation. This is the part that changes something, and it happens in exactly one place.
The ballot, and nothing else
Control over a seat is removed when more people vote for someone else. Not by a pressure campaign that ends with the news cycle, not by waiting for an investigation to land, and not by anything outside the law.
Saying this plainly is not a disclaimer. A movement that names capture and does not say how it intends to remove it invites the reader to imagine something worse, and there is nothing here to imagine. The mechanism is a ballot.
Why the primary is the real deadline
By the general election the choice is already made. The work that decides a seat happens earlier, in the party's own primary, where turnout is small and a coordinated base is worth many times its size:
- Start from the seat, not from the scandal.
- Find who could hold it, including people nobody has on a list yet — Good New Leaders.
- Assess them against published criteria, before anyone has picked a favourite — Qualifications.
- Converge on one, because a split field is how a well-funded incumbent survives.
- Do it before the ballot is set. After that there is nothing left to coordinate.

Removing the arrangement, not only the person
A seat can change hands and the arrangement can stay exactly where it was. So removal has a second half that runs on a different clock:
- Repeal the statutes that made the capture legal — Problem Laws.
- Pass the language that closes the gap — real bill text, numbered sections, published and waiting for a sponsor. Fixing the Law and Fix Bills.
- Keep a record of who blocked it — an obstruction is a decision, and it belongs in the record next to the votes. Good Laws.
