One app, four doors

Five addresses. One piece of software, one record.

The edition is decided by the address the request arrived on. Not four products, not four deployments, not four data sets — one app rendered five ways.

What binds every door

Three things, and they are arithmetic rather than opinion:

1. One award pipeline, computed party-blind

The Monkey, Llama and Flamingo awards are computed once, with no knowledge of which door will display them. No edition re-weights, re-rounds or re-thresholds anything.

The consequence is the part worth holding on to: no door can show its own audience a friendlier version of a voting record. If a member of Congress earns a Monkey Award, they earn the same one behind every door, including their own party's. A product that could not do this would be four campaign tools sharing a logo.

2. The unit of judgement is a person and a vote

Never a party. No door characterises another party, compares parties, or attributes motive to one. Every published finding is about what one person did with one vote, or what one person said in their own recorded words.

3. Cross-party challengers are always shown

Every seat view includes the strongest challenger who is not from your side, whatever party that turns out to be. See The seat view.

What is not shared, and deliberately so

No door is written to mirror another. They are not pairs. None is another's reflection. A door may carry areas the others do not, in any number and any order, and improving one creates no obligation to the rest.

Each door answers to its own messaging and to nothing else. Four audiences with four sets of priorities produce four different shapes — that is the intended result, not a defect waiting to be reconciled.
