Keep Ethical Economy. Remove Rigged Layer
There is a healthy economy. People build things, hire people, take real risks and get paid for work — and none of that is what this area is about. What this area is about is the layer sitting on top of it: the rules somebody wrote for themselves, which the healthy economy then has to carry.
Two layers, and only one of them is the target
- The healthy economy — the part that works, that we keep, and that nothing here proposes to redesign.
- The rigged layer — a specific rule, with a specific beneficiary, and a record showing the two are connected. That is the part that comes off.
Keeping the first straight is what stops this from reading as an argument against the economy itself. The end state is an economy that is ethical and clean and worth working in. Removing the layer is the means; the clean economy is the end.
Each side names its own layer
A Democrat and a Republican may well point at different layers — different rules, different beneficiaries, different order of importance. That is expected, and it is not a problem to be negotiated away here. Each community's own leaders document, from their own grassroots, what citizens on that side consider the rigged layer and what their plan is for removing it. What this area supplies is not the answer. It is the method: name one rule, find who it is for, follow the record, record the gaps, file it as a problem.
Why neither side's fix ever lands
Both bases have voted for repairs and watched them not happen. The reason is not that the other side blocked it. It is that a captured Congress does not pass the fix that removes what captured it — whichever side wrote the fix. That is why the two agendas can both be sincere and both go nowhere for decades.
So the shared work is not agreeing on one economic program. It is replacing captured incumbents with challengers, with the emphasis on people strong enough not to be captured once they are there — see Congress Working For Citizens and Replacing Incumbents. Captured Congress is the problem. Challengers who stay uncaptured are the fix. After that, each side's own plan finally has somewhere to go.
Documenting it yourself, rather than being told
The point of this area is that a citizen base can identify its own rigged layer on its own, with the same tools we use:
- Name one rule. One provision, one rate, one exemption — not "the system".
- Find who it is for. Who has to comply, and who is carved out.
- Follow the record. Filings, roll calls, contracts, disclosures — sourced at the door.
- Record the gaps. Where the record has been withheld, that withholding is itself the finding. See Evidence.
- File it as a problem. It joins the ranked, sourced catalog in Problems and can be argued with in public.
An economy that is ethical and works for workers
The end state both bases describe, in their own vocabulary, is the same one: the healthy economy left standing, work worth doing, and nobody's advantage coming from having written the rule. That is the standard this area is measured against — see Great American Ethics.
