New Colonialism: Foreign Interests Controlling US Politicians
A new layer of colonialism gets added every year: foreign money and foreign interests buying influence over US politicians, and US citizens paying for it.
- When an officeholder answers to a foreign interest, the citizen base has been colonized in everything but name.
- Every year the layer gets thicker, because the incumbents who benefit from it will not be the ones to remove it.
- We do not make claims about a named person we cannot source.
How this gets shown rather than alleged
- The mechanism is what gets documented — the funding, the lobbying, the placed media, the captured staff — with the money traced to campaign finance records and the votes traced to the official legislative record.
- We name the category we can prove, not the person we cannot. Foreign leverage on an officeholder is disqualifying. Saying that about a named person takes the record, and we hold ourselves to it.
- What is missing gets marked as missing. We would rather publish 14 of 17 links and name the 3 we cannot get than hand you something that only looks complete.

- Challengers Who Will Remove the Layers — Every year the layer gets thicker, because the incumbents who benefit will not remove it.
Where this sits
This is one area of We The Citizens S, the Democratic Socialist front door at WeCitizensSocialism.com. It is written for democratic socialists, and nothing on the other three doors decides what belongs here.
